Our History

SCL is proudly 100% Australian-owned, providing integrated port-to-door landside logistics services to some of the world’s biggest names. With a rapidly growing turnover, a large and satisfied workforce, an established safety record and tier one technology to support our operations, we are proud to say that SCL stands tall in the Australian logistics community.

We are a business that believes our success is based on the success of both our clients and our staff, and we are completely committed to achieving this for all stakeholders. SCL has been built on the strong foundation and reputation of two dynamic Australian logistics companies that now work together as one team. In 2012, Kagan Logistics and Hoffmann Transport aligned to form Silk Contract Logistics. With individual company histories dating back more than 50 years, SCL is one of the most experienced warehousing and transport operations in the country. In February 2014, the management team acquired SCL from Gresham Private Equity.

From here, our dedicated team built on and expanded the new business under the name Silk Contract Logistics. Combining the best elements of these specialized warehousing and transport firms, we provide a full suite of logistics services that meet our customers’ various business goals from ‘Port to Door’.

For our customers, we provide hands-on service. With a direct line of contact to everyone from our Managing Director down, our customers are always able to access the best information about their operation, to ensure they are able to make the best business decisions. This, combined with our vast array of IT solution capability means that, as a base, we offer a nation-wide, fully integrated and end to end solution within expected timelines and in budget.
